YESTERDAY afternoon I checked in to read the latest notifications on Facebook.
A post from entertainment industry stalwart Brian Fogarty caught my eye. Something about my dear friend Greg Doolan. `Oh what’s Greg up to,’ I thought inquisitively. Then I read it:
“Another shock! Too young and a great talent — Greg Doolan (Wickety Wak) sadly passed away this afternoon @ only 63 yrs of age.”

PAHNIE Jantzen, who thrilled audiences with his Louis Armstrong tributes as part of Brisbane’s highly successful Wickety Wak showgroup, died yesterday after a long illness.

Just two weeks earlier, Pahnie had joined his former Wickety Wak co-stars on stage at Twin Towns Services Club after Greg Doolan invited him to join them for an impromptu performance of Louis Armstrong’s `What a Wonderful World’.
