Sydney film enthusiasts to help
in search for best short film
THE annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival returns to Glen Street Theatre as part of a global event when more than 100,000 people in over 300 cities across six continents gather in cinemas, galleries, universities, museums and cafes to view and vote for their favourite short film.

Victorian filmmaker wins top Award

Tropfest winner off to LA

VICTORIAN filmmaker Nicholas Clifford is `over the moon’ after being presented with the 21st Tropfest fruit bowl trophy from Avatar actor Sam Worthington last night in Sydney.

Clifford’s success was for his short film `We’ve All Been There’ which also won best female actor for Laura Wheelwright.

On Channel Seven’s Sunrise, Clifford said he had been more confident with `last year’s entry’ thinking it may have won the award that year but his latest success was a `great surprise’.

The Sapphires scoops the pool winning six

THE Sapphires sang their way into history at the 2nd Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, held last night (January 30, 2013) in Sydney, scooping the pool with six big wins.

The movie, which is about four Aboriginal girls who formed a singing group in the 1960s has been a real hit at the box office.

IT was a happy reunion for Keith Urban when he greeted his wife, Nicole Kidman, and children who flew in this morning for Nicole’s special appearance at the 2nd Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards to be held tonight at the Star Event Centre, in Sydney.

Still very much in love, the showbiz couple have to endure time apart as each fulfils the requirements of their individual careers – Nicole as an actor, and Keith on tour with his highly successful recording and live performances.

Hugh Jackman is a `Bunny’

Hugh hops into a new role

THE December 13 release of Hugh Jackman’s latest movie, Rise of the Guardian, is the culmination of three years work for our much-loved Aussie star, soon to be known as Bunnymund or `Bunny’ (the Easter Bunny) for short.

In an interview with Channel 9′s Richard Wilkins, Hugh said he first began work on the animated production three years ago and was then called back from time to time as rewrites necessitated updated dialogue.
