AFTER a stellar 25 years of sold-out tours and platinum selling albums, Lee Kernaghan’s career just keeps going from strength to strength.

In what can only be described as a massive week for the country music star, he was inducted into the CMC Hall Of Fame at the CMC Awards held on the Gold Coast the day before the release of his new 25th Anniversary Album at the end of March.

He followed this up a few days later by delivering a scorching live show at the CMC Rocks QLD festival to a sold-out crowd of 20,000 country music fans.

The response to Kernaghan’s high energy performance was overwhelming as he led the crowd on a musical journey through his 25-year career of the hits and songs that define modern Australian country music.

Lee took to the stage with The Wolfe Brothers, who are his touring band on the coming 25th Anniversary Tour – the musical chemistry between the singer and this band took the excitement and energy that was pouring out from the huge crowd to another level as the local hero set the bar for visiting superstar group the Dixie Chicks, who followed Kernaghan on to the CMC main stage.

Lee was also joined on stage by his mate and fellow CMC Hall Of Fame recipient James Blundell to duet on a new song they recorded together for the 25th Anniversary Album.

The mutual respect between these two artists, the only two performers to be inducted into the CMC Hall Of Fame to date, was obvious as they performed the song Back In 92 from Lee’s new album.

The song recalls the time when James hired Lee to be the piano player in his touring band and, soon after Boys From The Bush was released, he also fired Lee from his band.

Since then the two have become the best of mates and James has been involved in writing songs with Lee on almost every album he has recorded.

James will be joining Lee this year for selected dates on his upcoming tour.

The national tour dates begin in April and run all the way through to November 2017.

The tour will visit every state and territory in Australia.

Lee will be joined by a stellar line-up of special guests throughout the tour including the legendary James Blundell, multi Golden Guitar award winner Tania Kernaghan, 2016 Golden Guitar winner for Best New Artist Christie Lamb and CMC Award winning group, The Wolfe Brothers (who will join Lee for the entire tour).

Lee Kernaghan released his new 25th Anniversary Album on March 24, the same weekend he performed at CMC Rocks QLD.

After the first week of sales, it has come in at #2 on the ARIA Chart behind English mega-star Ed Sheeran, and #1 on the ARIA country chart.

After 25 years of touring and releasing albums, Lee Kernaghan still resonates loudly and proudly with his Australian fans.
