Dallas star succumbs to cancer

LARRY Hagman, who starred in top rating television series Dallas and I Dream of Jeannie, has died of cancer, aged 81.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas  in 1931, Hagman enjoyed a long and successful career as an actor, producer and director in film and television. His mother was Mary Martin, a star of Broadway.

Larry was in the middle of filming the Dallas comeback series at the time of his death. His co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy were at his side in the Dallas Hospital.

Both his early series of `I Dream of Jeannie' and his more recent starring role in Dallas made him a much-loved star on Australian television and around the world. He certainly brought a little magic into a lot of people's lives.

Larry married wife, Maj Axelsson in 1954 and the couple had two children - Heidi Kristina and Preston.
