AUSTRALIAN actor Patrick Ward has died, aged 69.
"Vale Patrick Ward. Rest in Peace mate," wrote Christopher Pate on FaceBook.
Born January 4, 1950 Ward was a familiar face on television screens across the nation.
One of his early roles was in Number 96 followed by guest roles in Matlock Police and Class of '74.
Ward also appeared as Nicholas Brent in the film version of Number 96 in 1974.
The talented actor was known for his many roles on other iconic shows including Cop Shop, Arcade, A Country Practice, Mission Impossible, Chances, All Saints, Bad Cop Bad Cop, Farscape and the US TV series The Love Boat.
His films included The Chain Reaction, cult film Stone and feature film Restraint as well as appearing in the mini series ANZACS.
