THE search is on for an Assistant Festival Manager to help bring together the 2017 Short+Sweet festival program on the Gold Coast.

The event, which is the biggest 10-min performance festival in the world, puts artists on a professional platform to further their careers, according to a spokesman.

"This is a voluntary position, a learning opportunity suitable for an emerging or established artist based on the Gold Coast," he said.

The Assistant Festival Manager will be actively involved in the process of recruiting local artists and curating performances for the Gold Coast Theatre and Cabaret stands at the festival to be held in August 2017.

The spokesman said Short+Sweet has been established in Queensland for more than 8 years and is linked to Short+Sweet worldwide.

He said specific duties and time commitments can be tailored to best suit the individual.
