RECIPIENT of the Vocal/Instrumental Performer for the second consecutive year, Joey Fimmano says it was great to know of his success first hand this year. "The circumstances were quite funny surrounding my win last year," said Joey.
"I was away working on the Fairstar on the night of the awards. The next morning there was all this gossip about someone winning an award. I thought that one of the other entertainers had won. The staff let me sweat for a while before they told me who it was. Everyone aboard was so wonderful and the staff organised a party the night after."
Joey's busy schedule also included a great deal of corporate work with Variety Club of Queensland, Mitsubishi, Lend Lease Corporation and various other multi-national companies. He is a regular favourite on many cruise lines, and is back on the Fairstar this month due to popular demand.
Joey's show has now devloped into a self contained production show. He is currently working on a new show involving lots of piano, vocals, dancing, comedy impressions and costume changes. Joey's lovely sister, Rose, sings and plays keyboards in the show, as well as dancing alongside Joey's two gorgeous dancers Caitlin Taylor and Tanya Loth in a Diana Ross and the Supremes impression.
Joey's band comprises musical director Loris Gardiman, Michael Belemore, Dennis Giraldi and Peter Blowes who all sing and play great dance music to end the night with a lot of fun. The show is an action packed two hours full of energy and versatility, something that has become a trademark of Joey's over the past few years.
