"This is an exceptional opportunity for ALVA to host one of Australia's Leading Woman in Entertainment Musical Theatre Stars," said ALVA - Women in Entertainment president Susie Smither.

"A change in schedules has enabled our Special Guest to come along and spend the day with ALVA and we are delighted."

As guest speaker Jennifer Murphy is sure to be fascinating and entertaining.

Beginning her career in the 1970’s with a passion for teaching and the performing arts, Jennifer has combined roles of performer, artistic director and educator.

As a cabaret and club performer in Sydney clubs, she auditioned at 8 months pregnant, and won the role of Evita in Australia’s premiere blockbuster music theatre production with a fairy tale rise to the top of her game.

She has worked as vocal and performance coach/director for TV, film and stage productions and with husband musical director Spud Murphy, Jennifer has been instrumental in creating opportunities in music theatre for many young performers.

Until recently Jennifer was Head of Music Theatre at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) for many years and is now directing, teaching and enjoying the birth of their first grandchild.

"She is an amazing, trailblazing Woman in Entertainment with many a story to tell of the adventures along the way","said organisers.

"This special event is a rare opportunity not to be missed as guests will be up close and personal and hear these stories and more as she chats to President Susie
about her life as a performer and what she has been up to recently."

Early bird specials for bookings apply until Thursday, October 25, cost $40 and after that date $45. Book online at www.alva.org.au , by email at bookings@alva.org.au or call Lisa on 0414 591020.
