Tamborine Mountain State School shines
32nd Gold Coast Eisteddfod

THE Tamborine Mountain Lyrebird Chorale proved a strong competitor in this year’s Primary School Choir – B Grade – Years Prep to 7 at the 32nd Annual Gold Coast Eisteddfod, held at the Arts Centre this week.
The talented choir of 46 students, conducted by Senior Music Teacher and Coordinator of Performing Arts Meredith Plant, was awarded `Highly Commended with Honours’ for their stunning performance of the traditional favourite the `Sky Boat Song’ plus Howard Blake’s `Walking the Air’.… Members read the rest!

70,000 aspiring performers on stage

THE Gold Coast is set for an influx of talented young performing arts students, teachers and families for the 32nd Annual Gold Coast Eisteddfod which runs for seven weeks from August 8.
Over 70,000 competitors have signed up for this year’s Gold Coast Eisteddfod which began modestly as part of the Tropicarnival Festival in 1982 with just 600 entries and has grown to be the largest in the country.… Members read the rest!

Youth puts on a great show

Eisteddfod attracts top class entries

YOUNG performers took over the Nerang Bicentennial Hall once again today for what is shaping up to be one of the best showcases for Queensland's potential stars of the future.

The children, ranging from tiny tots through to teenagers, were dressed in their finest costumes to display their talents and vie for a top placing in their respective heats as part of the First Annual Star Bound Eisteddfod.

Rising talent on show at Festival

Performers flock to new eisteddfod

DANCERS, singers and actors are gearing up to compete in the first annual Star Bound Entertainers Festival to be held at the Nerang Bicentennial Community Centre, in Nerang Southport Road, Nerang from April 8 to 14.

Providing a platform for talented performers of all ages, this exciting new variety competition was launched after the Spotlight Entertainers Festival announced this year it would cease staging their annual event, following an amazing 42 year-run on the Queensland Gold Coast.
