THE INAUGURAL Gippsland Country Music Festival kicked off this past weekend at Mossvale Park in Berry’s Creek to a capacity crowd.

Hemsworth film to boost local screen industry

Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett to star in Netflix movie Escape From Spiderhead being filmed on the Gold Coast.

A NETFLIX SCI-FI feature film starring Chris Hemsworth has started production on the Gold Coast, thanks to support from the Palaszczuk Government.
Escape from Spiderhead is being filmed entirely in Queensland and directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, Only the Brave, Oblivion, Tron: Legacy).
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Escape from Spiderhead was set to employ 360 local cast and crew and would pump around AUD$47 million into the local economy.… Members read the rest!

Relief for Qld clubs & pubs

$50 million in tax relief
THE QUEENSLAND Government has announced extra tax relief worth $50 million for Queensland pubs and clubs grappling with the effects of coronavirus.
In a statement released last week, the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D’Ath said from April, the State’s 1100 pubs and clubs would get a three-month deferral on gaming machine taxes.
