Spirit of Anzacs sees banner held high

ENTERTAINERS Dee Donavan, Sylvia Raye, Lorrae Desmond, Dinah Lee, Jacki De Paul, Lynne Fletcher and Little Patti have given Australian performers who entertained the troops in war zones a special place in Sydney’s annual April 25 Anzac Day march.
Until seven years ago, performers who travelled to the war zones in Korea, Malaya, Vietnam, Iraq, East Timor, Afghanistan, Solomon Islands, and the United Nations to bolster the spirits of our fighting diggers were relegated to finding a spot with one of the battalions if they wanted to march – never having a `unit’ of their own in which they could all march as a combined `force’.

GOODMORNING Australia host Kerri-Anne Kennerley goes back just two years to her most memorable Christmas.
"Celebrating with my husband John's family at The Bear Pub at Woodstock, England, would have to be the most memorable," she said.
"After enjoying a traditional hot Christmas dinner, we all sat in front of a log fire and sang Christmas Carols with my sister-in-law Emmy Lou Harris (married to John's brother Paul).

TAKING the hat trick at this year's Australian Country Music Awards in Tamowrth is the icing on the cake for singer-songwriter Graeme Connors.
Based in Mackay, Queensland, Graeme since 1988 has been growing in stature and has been one of the most successful chart artists of the past few years, scoring five straight No.1 hits on the Country Track chart.
