Top honours at Helpmann Awards

AT the 14th Annual Helpmann Awards last night The King and I was crowned with three Helpmann Awards, including Best Musical.

Roger Kirk was awarded for Best Costume Design and Michael Waters was presented with the Helpmann for Best Sound Design.

At the same ceremony, John Frost AM received the 2014 JC Williamson Award in recognition of his contribution to the Australian live entertainment and performing arts industry.

Produced by Opera Australia and John Frost, The King and I plays at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre until August 31 when it transfers to the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House, playing from September 7 to November 1.
