MULTI BASF Sunnie Award winner Dave Reynolds will be a special guest performer at this year's presentation evening at the Brisbane Sheraton.
Last year, Dave stole the show by winning three major Sunnie awards including Best Single (Middle of the Road) for `Stop Smell The Roses', Best Single (Country) `She Put the Music In Me' and Best Album (Country) `Music In Me'.
Dave is currently looking for original material for a new album later in the year. "We hope to find about 30 or 40 songs from which to select 20 tracks for the new CD," he said.
And, he hopes the remaining songs may be used on future albums. "I'm keen to do quite a bit of recording in the next 12 months, making up for the past year in which I concentrated mainly on live performances," he said.
Dave, who is a five time BASF Sunnie Award winner, won't be entering this year's competition. It is likely, however, he will compete again next year. This year Dave has been invited to perform before his industry peers, backed by Big City Band.
Dave enjoys upbeat country music. Ï like the commercial country type sound"," he said.
Dave has an individual style and while he admits to having a secret love for ballads, can throw himself into a vast array of musical treats from country and middle of the road to bush ballads. He has toured with some of Australia's greats including Slim Dusty, Lee Conway, Reg Lindsay, Carter Edwards as well as appearances on numerous television shows.
The talented singer, songwriter, musician and producer, whose talents have also been enjoyed by country music fans at Tamworth and Gympie, spends his few spare moments away from the studios or live performances, mounted on his favourite appaloosa steed, enjoying the serenity of his 12ha property north of Brisbane.
