SET TO DELIGHT LUNCH GUESTS
LEGENDARY Australian performers Julie Anthony and Simon Gallaher are set to delight members, guests, friends, musicians and the general public at the second Australian Ladies Variety Association (ALVA) Gold Coast luncheon to be held on Wednesday, August 22.
The event represents a real coo for organisers who, with Simon's help, have been able to secure much-loved songstress Julie Anthony for a rare appearance alongside her dear friend and showbiz colleague Simon Gallaher.
The two are stalwarts of the the Australian music and entertainment industry and both have represented Australia at major national and international events.
Julie is synonymous with the Australian National Anthem which she sang at the 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony with Human Nature.
This captivating performer has also been a member of The Seekers. She is also the recipient of an Order of the British Empire (OBE) and Member of the Order of Australia (AM) and has been acknowledged by her peers who voted her `Best Female Vocalist' 11 times and `Entertainer of the Year' three times.
Brisbane born Gallaher, a Logie Award-winning singer, actor, director, pianist, hit songwriter, theatrical star, producer and entrepreneur will be giving lunch guests at the ALVA Goes Gold Coast event an insight into his career as well as informing them on his current activities and projects in the entertainment industry.
ALVA President Susie Smither said she was excited that two of Australia's most loved performers would be guests at the luncheon.
"This is a very rare opportunity to see Julie and Simon whom we all love so much," she said.
The event, to be held at the South Tweed Sports Club from 11am, will also include a delicious two course lunch with tea, coffee and cash bar available. It is open to ALVA members, ALVA blokes, friends, musicians and guests.
Time to take advantage of the Earlybird Special is fast running out as these tickets must be purchased before August 17. The cost is $35, a saving of $10. Dress is smart casual.
