THE WOLFE BROTHERS ANNOUNCE HOME-TOWN SHOW AND INTERNATIONAL AWARD NOMINATION
Tasmania’s hit making country rock duo, The Wolfe Brothers, are celebrating the release of their National ARIA Chart #1 country music album Kids On Cassette with a huge hometown show at Hobart’s Wrest Point Entertainment Centre on Saturday 9 October.
In Breaking News, the brothers have been nominated by the American Country Music Association (CMA) as one of four finalists from around the world in the Jeff Walker 2021 Global Country Artist Award. Voting by the members of the CMA takes place during the month of August with the winner announced before the end of the year.
“We are incredibly grateful for this total surprise finalist nomination in the CMA 2021 Global Country Artist Award,” says Nick Wolfe. “The fact that our music is being recognised globally is something we only dreamed of a few years ago.”
Tom Wolfe says their Hobart home-town gig is going to be a night to remember for the brothers.
“Performing our first #1 album on home turf with a big sound and lighting production at Wrest Point, well it just doesn’t get any better,” he says.
Joining The Wolfe Brothers on stage for a special guest appearance during their set will be one of the Wolfies early musical heroes. This Aussie legend has recently become a good mate of the boys and is also one of their guest performers on the new album – their special guest will be none other than the amazing Jack Jones.
Jack appears on the duet track Downtime where he delivers his incredible vocals and a blistering two-and-a-half minute guitar solo. Jack’s band Southern Sons were a huge influence on Nick and Tom Wolfe when they were starting out and it will be worth the price of admission seeing their faces when they are playing one of their songs with Jack Jones in concert for the very first time.
All three singles released from the Kids On Cassette album have achieved the national #1 Country Chart position giving The Wolfe Brothers the incredible statistic of fifteen #1 singles consecutively.
The Kids On Cassette album also achieved the #1 spot on the ARIA National Country Chart, ending the run of the four prior albums peaking at #2.
On the ARIA All Genre Chart the album entered at #6, the groups highest main ARIA chart entry to date. It was #2 on the ARIA All Genre Australian Artist Chart.
With a swag of new songs and a new show, it is only fitting to premiere the Kids On Cassette album on home soil. Book your tickets and join the ever-expanding Wolfe Pack for a great night of Aussie Country Rock at its best.
