BIO

GEORGE HARVEY is a man of many faces. For George, show business isn’t just what he does, it’s what he is. He has been developing his skills since early school days when George’s teachers realised he had a personality & a voice.. a voice that made him the Solo Vocal Champion at Marist Brother’s colleges Australia-wide for 6 consecutive years. Even away from school, George’s place was on the stage, starring in productions of “The King & I”, “Camelot” and “The Sound of Music”. The next decade was a whirlwind of solo shows, band and compere work. In the mid 1970’s, George’s career was as diverse as his onstage costumes. One night, it was black leather, a rock band and Elvis rock ‘n’ roll. The next night, it was a dinner suit, a big band and the music of Frank Sinatra.

In 1981, while at St. George Leagues Club in Sydney, George noticed the original Four Kinsmen sitting on an adjoining table. On finding out that one of the members was leaving, he asked the guys “When you’re looking for a replacement, don’t look any further than me, will you?” They didn’t – and George’s career with the Four Kinsmen began. This career that took him all over the world – from the concert stages of Australia to their own show in a major showroom on the Las Vegas strip. In 1982, Robert Pearson joined the Kinsmen, beginning an on-stage partnership that would develop over the next 30 years

ROBERT MICHAEL PEARSON was born in the UK in 1961. His parents decided to move to Australia for a better life for their two children Robert & his sister Julie in 1971. A short trip by ship stopping at ‘every BLOODY port’ between Southhampton UK and Sydney. As Robert remembers; ‘ When you’re 10 years old, there’s not a lot to do onboard’.

Robert doesn’t speak much about his school years as it wasn’t his favorite subject but being the class clown was. Rather than get beaten up by bullies, he made em’ laugh instead, not knowing that years later it would be a major part of his life! So school was more of a learning ground for his craft. ‘Thank you bullies!’.
He started entering Talent Quests after a bet with his dad. ‘My dad still owes me the ten dollars’, Robert said. In 1982, he was asked to join The Four Kinsmen. George Harvey, his long-time friend and other half of ‘Pearson & Harvey’, had joined a year earlier.

Over the next 30 years, Robert would develop his own style of comedy. He and on-stage partner George became incredibly attuned to each other, knowing instinctively what the other was going to do before they did it, making them one of the finest double acts Australia has produced.
