Adam Harvey

By SHIRLEY BROUN

JUST happened to tune into Foxtel's country station recently to find a duet between Adam Harvey and Tanya Self.

I've never really seen or heard Adam before, but I admit I will look for this handsome, young performer in the future.

I like the analogy presented by his management, Gordon Stahl, in stating: `Roll together the voices of American country legends George Jones, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty and Johnny Cash, throw in a unique Australian personality and presentation, add movie star good looks, and you have Adam Harvey!

The Adam Harvey story began in country Victoria with a talent quest win when he was 17. The Geelong-born artist followed this in the same year with the best male vocalist award at the annual Mildura Country Music Festival.

From there Adam began touring with name acts on the Australian scene, making television appearances, performances in Tamworth, and working the hotel and club circuit along eastern Australia and throughout Victoria.

Adam recorded his first album in 1994 and followed it with Second Time Around in 1996.

In 1997 Adam toured Australia with US superstar Don Williams, then headed off for performances at the Hodag Festival in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and the giant Fan Fair in Nashville.
