JULIE Anthony, born in Galga, South Australia in 1951, performed in Las Vegas as a support act to famous comedian Bill Cosby.

MEL Gibson was born in New York State, USA, in 1956. He moved to Sydney when he was 12 years old, but still regards Australia as his `home'. Mel was only 21 when he was offered the lead role in Mad Max, which attracted a cult following all over the world.

OLIVIA Newton-John was born in Cambridge, england, in 1948, and moved with her family to Melbourne when she was five years old, later moving to Newcastle. She got her first break into showbusiness when she entered a Johnny O'Keefe Talent quest singing `Anyone Who Had a Heart' and won!

PETER Allan was born in Tenterfield, NSW, Australia in 1944. He began his show business career at the age of nine, playing piano in a pub in his home town of Tenterfield. He excelled too, as a songwriter. Many years after his marriage split from Judy Garland's daughter, Liza Minelli (their engagement was announced in 1964), Peter paid tribute to the girl who had played `Dorothy' in the Wizard of Oz with the song `Quiet Please, There's a Lady on the Stage'. Everyone from Olivia Newton-John and Rita Coolidge to Frank Sinatra have recorded songs written by Peter, who also extended his talents to include acting when he took on the role of the Pirate King in a British TV production of The Pirates of Penzance.
